In March 2024, Global Ties Sacramento hosted 13 international professionals from Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic, and Spain. During their visit they explored the ongoing U.S. primary elections, policy formulation, fostering party cohesion, and implementing secure and transparent election procedures.

In Sacramento, the group had the opportunity to observe the local community cast their votes at the Citrus Heights Community Center polling site. They met with representatives of Sacramento County and learned about the  Office of The Registrar of Voters‘ commitment to conducting accurate, transparent, and fair elections.

The visitors from Europe enjoyed meeting with young leaders from the Sacramento County Youth Commission who discussed their role as advocates for youth in local government.

Organize Sacramento provided valuable strategies on how to organize campaigns with the purpose of equipping citizens to think and act strategically to produce positive results when local community issues become organizing campaigns.

The California Latino Legislative Caucus discussed their role to promote and advocate on behalf of the professional, educational, social, political and cultural interests of the Latino community.

Finally, the visitors ended their programming with the California Center for Civic Participation and discussed efforts in educating young people about the political and democratic process.
